First post...

Well, this is the first post I've made here, at any rate. I think I've given up on writing my own blog in php or any other language. Why bother reinventing the wheel? I'm not even sure that I would want to add any sort of functionallity, from what I've seen so far.

Anyways, about what's going on in my life and in my mind. I've been poking about on the net for information regarding neural networks. I recall a time ago when my friend Tolley was very excited about learning of neural networks in college. At the time, he couldn't think of anything they would be useful for when I asked. It started to dawn on me over the past few weeks, when considering an endeavour into AGI research, just some areas where neural networks could be useful.

One thing I'd read was that a neural network could be implemented for signature validation. I talked with a coworker about his college work with neural networks implemented in speech recognition. It seems realistic to believe that neural networks are used where any sort of pattern recognition is needed.
